St. James School is looking for a Learning Behavior Specialist for the 2021-22 school year. At St. James, we FIND A WAY to do what is best for our kids and we are looking for someone who believes in forming students in faith, academics, and character.

Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of students and provide push in and pull out supports.
- Work with parents through the reevaluation process for IEP's, 504's, and accommodation/modification plans.
- Co-plan with classroom teachers to help provide high levels of differentiated instruction.
- Collaborate with the student services team to problem solve and working through necessary tasks.
- Hosting Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences two times per year and communicating regularly with families about academic and social issues
- A growth mindset and willing to accommodate students, including ICEP's and Accommodation/Modification plans.
- Building and maintaining a strong school culture centered around a Christ-Centered Culture of Joy.
- To grow the student's personal relationship with Jesus and promote the Catholic faith in an authentic way.
- Implementing academic and behavioral procedures in a positive manner in conjunction with our PBIS program.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission.
- Participating in faculty meetings and professional development sessions (e.g, Grade level Teams, etc.)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Required Bachelor's Degree in either Education or a specific academic discipline
- Require current State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- ?LBS1 Certification required in addition to the PEL
- Compliance with Archdiocese of Chicago Protecting God's Children guidelines.
- Willing to comply with the teachings of the Catholic Church and is a Catholic in good standing.
- Willing to facilitate extracurricular activities and participate in voluntary committees.
