Job Description

Communications & Content Contractor

Remote Work (New York City area preferred)

Hiring Start Time: Immediate

20 hours/week

Paid Hourly

This role is responsible for supporting Marketing's internal and external communications work and strategy. This individual will build and write content for major channels such as social media, email, website, leadership communications and other important mediums. The role will aim to develop stronger, impactful messaging to support an array of stakeholders throughout the network from the Executive Team to Enrollment and Recruitment functions. Additionally, the person will serve as a subject matter expert, partner and consultant for campaign communications within and outside the department. Role reports to the Director of Marketing.

Qualifications

Core Duties & Responsibilities
  • Write and create branded content for a myriad of communications across Marketing's scoped work, core channels and associated mediums including anything from presentations and ads to emails and newsletters.
  • Serve as content creator and support for select executive team communications and network addresses.
  • Support content editing and provide guidance on building effective storytelling and communications for other content creators.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • 4-5+ years prior work experience in communications, branding or marketing.
  • BA in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or other relevant field required
  • Exceptional writing skills: Ability to use and define a brand voice, ability to tell human-interest and create engaging content, excellent editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) preferred
