The Board of School Directors of the Central Bucks School District (CBSD) is now accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The future Superintendent will be a proven academic leader, dedicated to expanding upon the proud standards and rich traditions that are the hallmark of the Central Bucks School District.  The Superintendent will lead through the advancement of academic excellence and by ensuring that success is within the reach of all students - allowing each to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs with rigorous, engaging and innovative curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

THE CENTRAL BUCKS SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMUNITY

Encompassing more than 120 square miles in the heart of beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania, CBSD is the third largest school district in the state. With more than 18,000 students in grades kindergarten through twelve, the district has fifteen elementary, five middle, and three high schools (all three high schools are ranked in the top 40 of the state). An award-winning staff development program and careful planning for growth have resulted in a quality school district that provides a world-class education that is in keeping with the community’s resources. The District employs more than 3,000 faculty and staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • PA Letter of Eligibility
  • Doctorate preferred
  • Demonstrated curriculum and instructional leadership
  • Administrative experience within an academic environment required

SUPERINTENDENT KEY CHARACTERISTICS

Academically Focused - The next Superintendent will have a strong focus and understanding of how students learn. They must encourage and direct programs that provide all Central Bucks students with the opportunity to reach their personal academic goals.

Innovative Educator – The next Superintendent will stay informed of the current trends and innovations in learning, as well as any changes to existing programs and technologies in order to support and advance CBSD’s excellence in academics.

Solid Business Foundation - The next Superintendent will have a strong business background, based in an academic environment, in order to assume the operational and financial oversight and responsibility of a district the size of CBSD.

Effective Leader – The next Superintendent will provide a unifying influence that balances kindness and understanding with a strength of focus to drive decision-making and to lead the district through changes.

Excellent Communicator - The next Superintendent will develop strong relationships with students, staff, the community, and the Board in order to facilitate the respectful, open exchange of ideas among all stakeholders.

COMPENSATION - APPLICATION
