The Collaborative for Educational Services is looking for a Special Education in Institutional Settings (SEIS) Coordinator to provide leadership and supervision in the delivery of special education services to students in Department of Youth Services Facilities (DYS) and County Houses of Correction (CHC). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator dedicated to social justice and equity with a background in, and passion for, working to improve outcomes for youth placed at-risk, youth with disabilities and diverse populations.

The Collaborative for Educational Services is contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to coordinate and deliver special education services to students in the care of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Department of Public Health (DPH), and the County Houses of Correction (CHC). SEIS educators work closely with general educators to develop and deliver effective instruction for students with IEPs.

The DYS & CHC Coordinator is instrumental in ensuring the quality of these services, that youth make academic progress, and that this progress is sustained when they transition out of DYS/CHC.

Requirements: Candidates must possess a MA Educators License and a MA Administrator License. Must have own transportation, able and willing to travel throughout Massachusetts.

Workplace Health and Safety: CES employees working on site in DYS, DMH, DPH or CHC facilities are required to demonstrate that they have received COVID-19 vaccination, unless a medical (101 CMR 23.04(3)) or religious (101 CMR 23.04(4) exemption applies.

Compensation scale: competitive based on credentials and experience.Range $75,000-$90,000

CES Benefits: CES offers a comprehensive benefit package including: Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and voluntary Short Term Disability, enhanced Vision and additional Life Insurance. Health Insurance is offered through Tufts/Harvard Pilgrim and includes two plan options: PPO with a self-funded Health Savings Account, and HMO with a Health Reimbursement Account funded by CES to support a portion of health insurance deductions. FSA and Dependent Care accounts are available. CES is considered a quasi-state agency and provides two retirement options for employees based on eligibility. Employees are vested after ten years of creditable service.
