Serves as the school division's administrative hearing officer; hears appeals from the school or regional level, as well as Title IX cases, and renders decisions; conducts employee grievance hearings; leads in supporting, with an equity lens, intervention approaches and programs, providing recommendations and resolutions for students; and prepares documentation for the School Board.

Qualifications:
Master's degree. Doctoral degree preferred. Seven years of progressively more responsible experience in teaching, supervision, and administration. Experience as a change agent in a setting working with diverse populations in school counseling, student social work, juvenile justice, special education, or related field. Postgraduate educational license with endorsement appropriate to assignment. Administration and supervision preK-12 endorsement. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and current trends of school administration. Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to student behavior and conduct, rights and responsibilities, the disciplinary appeal process, and equity issues. Knowledge of current models of effective school crisis intervention and conflict resolution. Understanding of issues of equity and disproportionality in discipline. Familiarity with successful approaches to creating and implementing change. Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office. Ability to manage a divisionwide appeal process, conduct administrative hearings, and prepare documentation for School Board hearings. Ability to provide guidance and support using the lens of inclusive and culturally responsive practice. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working/partnering relationships with Leadership Team, school-based staff, department staff, public entities, families, and citizens. Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Ability to plan, develop, and implement professional development activities. Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
