Parkway Middle School is a "C" rated school located in the City of Lauderhill. We are home to approximately 1,280 students. The school has the only Middle School Performing Arts Magnet Program and Gifted Academy Program in the district and has a STEM to STEAM Magnet Program. The Performing Arts Magnet Program is the recipient of the prestigious Magnet Schools of America Merit School of Excellence award. The faculty and staff at Parkway Middle School is dedicated and compassionate with a focus on high-quality instruction, academic rigor, and social emotional learning.

At Parkway Middle School, we offer a variety of programs and opportunities in addition to our Magnet Programs including chess, speech and debate, robotics, industry certification, STEM (Holistic Horticulture, Aviation, Meteorology and Environmental Science). There are a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities available such as National Junior Honor Society, Math Competition, Foreign Language Competition, Global Scholars, Thespians, Tech Club, etc. Additionally, our students can earn High School Credit in Spanish, Algebra I Honors, Geometry, Speech and Debate and Physical Science Honors. Our elementary students are provided elective courses in Mandarin Chinese, Performing Arts, STEM and more. Our students and teachers have access to the latest technology in every classroom and Parkway is an environment conducive to accelerated learning and preparing our students with real-world skills.

An innovative and transformational instructional leader who is visible and can develop and support current academic and magnet programs such as the Gifted Academy, Performing Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), while maintaining high expectations for ALL students and staff; supportive of athletics and extracurricular programs; possess extensive knowledge in curriculum and leading diverse student populations; knowledgeable in implementing highly rigorous and engaging academic and magnet programs that meet the diverse needs of ALL students; has excellent marketing and communication skills; is fair, consistent, approachable, and interested in building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse population of students, staff, parents, and community at large; is a strong advocate for school safety and discipline while promoting a positive school culture and a welcoming environment for all stakeholders; supports leadership growth, promotes life-long learning, and social-emotional learning with emphasis on the total student: academically, socially, culturally, emotionally.

Minimum Qualifications:

Hold or be eligible for certification as a school principal or in educational leadership or administration/supervision in the State of Florida. Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of five (5) years of successful public school experience. Three (3) of the five (5) years shall be experience as a principal or assistant principal. Applicants who do not have principal experience must be a participant in, or have completed, Broward's Principal Preparation Program or a similar leadership training program in another district/state. Candidates must be rated at a competent/ professional level on all sections of the interview in order to be considered as a qualified candidate to move forward for consideration.

Compensation:

Current SBBC Principals will remain on current salary schedule. Newly hired and newly appointed employees will be placed on the Pay for Performance Salary Schedule.

Pay for Performance Salary Schedule Range: $113,000 - $132,000
Grandfathered Salary Schedule Range: $114,249 - $133,184
