PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:
5 Actively engage in the High School community through regular classroom visitation and
attend before/after school events.

a) Successfully conduct a hiring process reflecting a shared decision-making model that consistently recommends the employment of candidates who are ethical, highly skilled, service-oriented, and student-centered.
b) Practice sound personnel policies, develop leadership standards in the high school staff.
c) Promote positive building morale and demonstrate effective evaluation techniques.
7. Develop and implement efficient and effective plans in the following areas:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid NYS School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator & Supervisor (SAS) Certificate (SDL or SDA are desired)
2. Master?s Degree with emphasis on educational leadership and instruction
3. Minimum of 10 years? experience in education, including teaching and secondary building-level leadership
4. Knowledge of/ experience with development and implementation of a Strategic Plan, CSEP/CSIP reflecting District CDEP
5. Proven ability to:
a. Develop positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and others in the community
b. Improve student achievement through the effective use of instructional leadership, data driven instruction, and staff/professional development
c. Consistent evidence of a strong work ethic, appropriate professional judgment, and integrity
d. Understand, support, and promote a diverse educational program inclusive of broad academic course work, student support services, music and art, athletics, and other activities essential for a strong, well-rounded high school program
e. Demonstrate an understanding and application of the CCLS
f. Demonstrate strategic decision-making to balance budgetary parameters with programmatic demands

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools
SUPERVISES: All certified and support staff assigned to the high school

- Demonstrate instructional leadership in providing a positive and productive environment
- Collect, analyze and use appropriate data to improve teaching and learning at the High
- Promote sound/effective educational practices that are supported by research;
- Effectively engage staff, parents, students, and community members in shared decision- making opportunities.

- Ensure a safe environment for students, staff and community members
- fiscal accountability in school budget and finance
- recruitment and selection of instructional and support staffing
- assignment of instructional and support staffing
- evaluation of instructional and support staffing
- supervise guidance and preparation of master schedule
- staff development/instructional leadership
- curriculum study and development in accordance with CCLS
- maintain student discipline/student conduct following the Code of Conduct
- supervise and administer student attendance regulation
- assimilate and assist new instructional and support staff
- administer extracurricular activities and events
- integrate technology to improve/support instruction, communication, and administration
- promote and enforce the welfare and safety of the students and staff
- prepare a 5-year building and grounds plan for SED
- supervise the utilization, preservation, and care of all school property
- train and supervise office staff
- implement CCLS/NYS standards and graduation requirements
- certify all high school graduates as required by NYS educational law
- Actively participate in District-wide activities pertaining to a variety of issues,
- Work collegially and collaboratively with the District leadership team for instructional
practices.
- Define, coordinate, and supervise the duties and responsibilities of the high school
- Ensure compliance with the Commissioner's Regulations of the State of New York, the
- All other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her
