QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Connecticut Middle School Math Certification
- Experience in teaching mathematics to Middle School students
- Leadership experience in developing and implementing intervention programs
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Understands best practices in instruction and assessment, specifically related to struggling learners
- Utilizes technology to support systems and programs
- Employs excellent conceptual, analytical, problem solving, organization, and leadership skills
- Analyzes and synthesizes information: develop and monitor a plan; and produce data-focused reports
- Self-directed with attention to detail and excellent time-management skills
- Possesses exceptional communication skills and has a proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements school-wide math intervention processes
- Collects and analyzes data to identify students in need of intervention
- Collects and analyzes data to monitor the effectiveness of interventions
- Collaborates with administration to improve school-based math intervention practices
- Stays current on best practices and current trends in math instructional practices
- Attends grade-level PLC math meetings and Student Support Meetings
- Contributes to math-related programmatic decisions
- Supports teachers in effective implementation of math intervention strategies
- Provides math intervention to identified students
- Collaborates with Special Education and EL Supervisors and teachers, as needed
- Coordinates the Math Transition/Placement Process: 6th to 7th, 7th to 8th
