POSITION TITLE: Student Support Technician

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Student Support Technician will be responsible for serving as the initial point of contact for end users, providing support on a variety of issues by responding to telephone calls, email and associate requests for first tier Chromebook, LMS, & Google Apps issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- License:
- Required - Dell Chromebook hardware certified and CompTIA A+ Certification, however, if does not have the certification, will have six months from start of employment to receive the certification.
- Preferred - Dell Chromebook hardware certified. CompTIA A+ Certification
- Education:
- Required - Enrolled in coursework leading towards Computer Science Degree.
- Preferred - Bachelor Computer Science
- Experience:
- Required - One (1) to two (2) years' experience in a 1:1 environment. Helpdesk experience.
- Preferred - Two (2) to three (3) years' experience working in a 1:1 public school district environment. Two (2) years' experience working in an environment using a Learning Management System (LMS)
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides frontline support for Chromebooks, Google Apps, and LMS.
· Follows up with support staff and with users to ensure timely and satisfactory issue resolution.
· Provides basic Chromebook troubleshooting and defined resolution support.
· Maintains Dell certification and renewal.
· Maintains repair documentation.
· Assists in unloading Chromebook devices for enrollment.
· Assists in enrolling Chromebook devices for deployment.
· Assists in distributing devices to students and staff when needed.
· Assists in collecting devices from students and staff.
· Works with users by answering phone calls in a timely manner.
· Works with users by answering emails from both staff and students in a timely manner.
OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts with users of varying ages and experience levels, including, but not limited to, administrators, staff, and students.
- Assists in other areas as needed.
- Complete other duties as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Technical: Ability to provide IT Help Desk in a PC/LAN environment. General knowledge of computer equipment and peripherals. Proficiency in Google Apps. Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work with G-suite applications. Must be able to use the district email system, Google platforms, Microsoft Office, and the district's attendance system.
Interpersonal: Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be confident and reliable. Proven ability to assume ownership and willingness to take on responsibility and manage projects to completion. Must be willing to work in a team-oriented environment; strong customer service oriented; excellent communication skills; and ability to interact with students of all ages. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, students, and the community. Must have strong organization and interpersonal skills; and a strong sense of teamwork. Must be able to cope with deadline pressures; make difficult decisions that impact the organization in a positive sense; work harmoniously with the community, students, parents, staff, and administration, etc.; communicate effectively with students, parents and staff; exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people; and follow directives given by Administration. Must also be a creative problem solver; and empathetic, humanistic and open-minded.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordination performance.
Physical Effort: Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment, but not for sustained periods.
Working Conditions: Some exposure to definitely disagreeable elements may exist, i.e., temperature changes, use of steps/stairs, walking long distances throughout the building, etc.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time Position. May be required to work evenings and on weekends as needed. May be required to flex hours as needed.
WORK HOURS: Determined based on school assignment
SALARY RANGE: Salary and benefits established by the Board of Education
