POSITION: Speech and Language Pathologist

SCOPE:
- The Speech & Language Pathologist is responsible for the intellectual, social and effective development of students.
- The Speech & Language Pathologist is jointly responsible to their Supervisor, Director and Principal of the building(s) to which they are assigned. They are supervised and evaluated by their Supervisor in consultation with the Principal and Director of their assigned school(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Participates in the development and implementation of a relevant educational prescription (IEP) for each individual student for whom speech and/or language disorders may contribute significantly to his/her educational needs.
- Complies with all professional, local, state and federal regulations as well as Board policies, procedures, protocols and regulations.
- Assesses identified and referred students with possible communication disorders in the areas of articulation, voice, language, fluency, and/or hearing.
- Utilizes a variety of service delivery models which may include, but are not limited to, reassessment/tracking and consultation or direct services involving both pull-out and classroom intervention.
- Consults regularly with parents and classroom teachers regarding student progress and program(s).
- Based on Teacher Contract
