The ELL Summer Enrichment Program is a four-week academic program for English Learners in Grades 1 - 8. The programs will be housed at the Kennedy Longfellow, Tobin, and Vassal Lane Upper Schools. The Program Principal will oversee the ELL Summer Enrichment Program at the three school sites and perform the following responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage program operations
- Serve as a liaison for families and teachers in the program
- Oversee transportation and pick up of students
- Coordinate lunch/snack program
- Coordinate and supervise field trips
- Provide teacher's support as needed
- Maintain communication with the Coordinator of English Language Learner Programs
- Maintain student attendance data and student pick up logs
- Communicate pertinent information to school site principals
- Assist in maintaining the safety of program participants
- Disseminate communications to families pertaining to program guidelines, policies, and expectations.
- Coordinate substitute teaching assignments or cover classrooms as needed
- Other related duties assigned by the Coordinator of English Language Programs
Program dates July 6, 2021 - July 30, 2021.
The ELL Summer Enrichment Program Principal will be compensated at the rate of $41.00 per hour /week.
Not to exceed $5,330.00 each ($10,660.00 for 2 positions)

Requirements:

ELL Summer Enrichment Program Principal will be experienced working in summer programs geared at providing EL students effective academic instruction. The candidate will have experience working in Sheltered English Immersion programs and have knowledge in English language development and SEI pedagogy.
The candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues, demonstrate high expectations for English language learners, be effective in working with immigrant families and create a learning environment that fosters mutual respect and cultural sensitivity.
Education: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a concentration in teaching ELLs
Experience: At least 5 years experience working in SEI Programs and experience working with linguistically diverse students and families.
Languages: Proficiency in English and fluency in a language other than English is preferred but not required.

Period of Contract July 6, 2021 through July 30, 2021
Amount of Contract: Not to exceed $10,660
Payment Terms: $41 per hour
