About the Rio Grande Valley:
Since 2000, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a school of 150 students in Donna, TX, to the fastest- growing family of tuition-free, public charter schools in the United States. In the Rio Grande Valley, we are a nucleus of four counties (Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties) that work as one unit to support our children academically and holistically.
RGV is home to a population of just over 1.3 million residents. Children across the region truly benefit from IDEA's mission of college for all, as only 1 out of 17 students currently graduate college ready. Our mission holds true as we have over 5,000 IDEA alumni that currently attend, or have graduated from, 300 colleges and universities across the country.

Role Mission:
The State Reporting Analyst is an HQ Information Systems liaison that builds effective business relationships with regional non-Texas leadership teams and supports the management and execution of state/local/federal reporting data operations in those regions. The State Reporting Analyst does initial discovery and documents new region state/federal/local data reporting requirements. The State Reporting Analyst provides HQ leadership visibility into regional data reporting operations by utilizing effective project management tools, and creating and maintaining documentation such as timelines, data calendars, and process summaries. The State Reporting Analyst proactively tracks data reporting operations and communicates regional data reporting needs to HQ teams to ensure reporting deadlines and timelines are met.
For the 2021-2022 Academic Year, the State Reporting Analyst can expect to divide priorities by state accordingly:
30% - Louisiana
30% - Florida
20% - Ohio
20% - Arkansas/Other
Accountabilities:
Data reporting processes are tracked and managed in a project management tool to guarantee status visibility and monitor costs for review and reduction over time
Ensures regional data operations business continuity by documenting and maintaining critical state/federal/local data reporting requirements in a centralized repository
Leads the discovery and preparation of data operations for new state launches by researching state reporting requirements, and building effective business relationships with regional leaders and state resources
Ensures that external data submissions for purposes of Federal, state, and local governance are executed with the highest fidelity and accuracy

Accountabilities:
- Partners with Director of Data Services and regional data managers to develop and implement a project management framework
- Accountable for the creation and maintenance of project plans for each major state/federal submission
- 100% of major data collections are tracked and managed in Wrike
- Leads the adoption of management tools, such as Wrike and SharePoint, in new regions for the execution of State/Federal/Local data collections
- Utilizes project management software to report on progression to HQ and regional leaders
- Collaborates with PEIMS and Director of Data Services to define and implement a set of standard data processes and practices across all regions
- 100% of existing non-Texas State/Federal data systems and collections are documented and maintained in a centralized repository
- Accountable for the creation and maintenance of a data calendar, submission calendar, timelines, and date process summaries
- Regularly updates and maintains data reporting and process documentation in SharePoint
- Supports the onboarding of new data managers in non-Texas regions by utilizing centralized process documentation
- Collaborates with PEIMS Manager to create documentation on federal data process and reporting requirements
- Partners with Information Systems departments to design and develop training resources for ensuring cascading of critical processes and best practices
- 50/85/100% of new state launch requirements documented and maintained in a centralized repository by 12/6/3 months before FDOS (E.g. data privacy laws, data management system, data requirements, records archiving laws, state resources.)
- Researches and discovers state reporting requirements, data privacy laws, and compliance policies for new non-Texas regions
- Connects regional data staff with appropriate partnership staff or external resources to provide training on state data operation requirements
- Establishes an effective business relationship with state DOE agent to be utilized as an informative resource for operations
- Builds comparative data crosswalks across existing and new data structures
- Engages in PD and offered mechanisms from internal and external entities relating to submissions
- Surfaces risks and opportunities to Director of Data Services, Chief Information Officer, and VP of Growth for proactive solution design and resolution
- 100% of milestones and deadlines met according to data calendars
- Accountable for execution of data submissions by connecting the regional data staff with the appropriate HQ and partnership supporting personnel and services
- Utilizes project management software to determine on-track or off-track to meet deadlines and coordinates with appropriate HQ leaders to provide effective support, resources, and services

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 2+ years managing projects
- Portfolio of exemplar documentation for business process(es) strongly preferred

Compensation
- Salaries for this role typically fall between $57,141 and $68,569, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
