Position Purpose :
To complete bilingual psychological evaluations of students recommended for consideration as a student with a disability under the IDEA as a member of a multidisciplinary evaluation team following the compliance requirements of IDEA
Position Description
- Hourly compensation at the applicant's per diem salary rate for hours needed to complete the evaluation including preparation of the summary report
- Effective immediately
- Completes bilingual psychological evaluations for school age students
- Participate in the completion of a multidisciplinary evaluation report summarizing the evaluation results
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Knowledge and experience in the administration of a wide range of evaluation instruments
- Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to education and special education.
- Knowledge and experience in special and general education, pedagogy, and assessment (including data analysis)
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to operate, function with, and support a wide range of student strengths, needs, personalities, and backgrounds.
- Proficiency with computers and various assessment technologies and the effective use of technology when evaluating individual students
- Use of district-issued digital hardware and software.
Certification/License
- CT State Certification – School Psychologist
- Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from an accredited college or university in Psychology with coursework in assessment and evaluation
- Three -five years of successful experience as a school psychologist including completing bilingual evaluations
