July 6, 2021 - August 13, 2021 Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-11:30a.m.
REPORTS TO:Director of Pupil Services and ESY Summer Coordinator
JOB MISSION:To lead, encourage, and assist students to develop their individual potential for intellectual and emotional growth, resulting in their learning and achievement of high standards of knowledge and skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
1.PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Continuously improve professional knowledge and practice through appropriate professional development activities; share information and knowledge with other teachers; apply the best research in the design and development of school curriculum.
1.2Maintain and incorporate the best research in instructional materials and techniques.
PLANNING FOR INSTRUCTION
Set short-term and year-long goals for curricular Individual Educational Plans based on sound principles and practices of learning.
Develop and maintain lesson plans based on short-term and year-long goals and share when appropriate.
Assess students learning styles and academic functioning.
USE OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
Integrate current technologies as tools to enhance instructional strategies and increase student learning.
EFFECTIVENESS OF INSTRUCTION
Promote a high level of active learning through setting high standards and clear goals and modifying instruction to help all students achieve those standards.
Maintain systems of assessment and measurements which reflect progress in achieving Individual Educational Plans and instructional objectives.
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
5.1Establish an atmosphere that encourages sensitivity and respect among students and with the teacher, and practices and routines which create an appropriate learning environment.
Design instructional experiences in which students achieve high standards and optimize their performance by taking responsibility for their own learning.
Coordinates services to students as prescribed in Individual Educational Plans.
EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
6.1Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, staff and administration using expected professional standards.
Participate actively in team/department/staff meetings.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO STUDENTS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
7.1Be available for student and/or parent conferences.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SCHOOL AND/OR TEACHING PROFESSION
8.1Work collaboratively to identify areas for school improvement, develop possible strategies, and assess results.
ENFORCEMENT AND COMPLIANCE WITH SCHOOL REGULATIONS
9.1Observe and implement the rules and regulations established for the school system.
