Media Center Paraprofessional
CMS is seeking a full-time library aide/ substitute teacher (37.5 hours per week) starting August 2021 for the 2021-22 school year! This person will perform a variety of functions in a school library media center: utilize library management system, word processing software and web-based suites proficiently; oversee the distribution of chromebooks (beginning and end of year), and along with a Tech Lead provide basic chromebook troubleshooting; process and catalog library materials; assist teachers and students in the use of library services; and maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming environment. This position also requires the applicant to hold a substitute teaching license , so that he/she can support CMS during substitute shortages.
Sarting pay range is $13.90 - $16.22/hr - DOE
RFSD offers full district paid employee health benefits as well as voluntary vision, dental, and dependent coverage. Other benefits include: paid leave, CO PERA (pension plan) enrollment with district contribution, TSA options, Employee Assistance and Wellness Programs.

- Assist students in locating reference and other instructional materials for the purpose of facilitating the proper and efficient use of media center books, materials and equipment.Assist in reinforcement in reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media and other skills.Assist in maintaining the circulation desk operations and circulation files.Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.Operate audio visual equipment as needed.Basic Chromebook troubleshootingAssist in cataloging and filing learning materials.Construct, copy, distribute and use educational materialsOther duties as assigned
Equipment
- Assist in the utilization and maintenance of instructional and non-instructional equipment, including a personal computer if necessary.Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.`
Communication Requirements
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.Effective writing and communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.Ability to follow directives of supervisors and assist students with respect to instructional and non-instructional tasks.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.

Qualifications Profile
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:High School diploma or equivalent.Prior experience working with children desirable.
