St. Barnabas School is a vibrant and diverse school serving over 500 students on the southside of Chicago. St. Barnabas is seeking an Assistant Principal who in collaboration with the Principal, will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the school's curriculum and instructional programs as well as the coaching and evaluation of teaching staff. The Assistant Principal also manages school-wide discipline and PBIS efforts. The Assistant Principal serves as a liaison and support for student programs, councils, and clubs.

The position is an 11 month administrative role; August through June.

Preferred Qualifications: PEL with a General Administrative or Principal Endorsement; M.A. or M.S. in Education; five years of successful teaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of the organizational components of a diverse pre-k through grade 8 school; commitment to Catholic education and past involvement in the Catholic community preferred; ability to model exemplary instructional and cultural school practices; experience developing and delivering professional development to groups of teachers, commitment to constant growth and learning, proven ability to earn and maintain the trust of teachers, administrators, and parents; strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate, lead, and collaborate effectively with others; knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and research related to learning; ability to analyze student data for the purpose of advancing student achievement; demonstrated capabilities in leadership, collaboration, and communication.
