  • DEFINITION: Under basic supervision, maintains and troubleshoots technology equipment and programs for assigned school sites.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    TASKS:
    Coordinates and collaborates with Information Technologies network technicians; works closely with school administration, teachers and staff to understand needs, including application maintenance, modifications, and new needs; performs hardware and software installations, including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, scanners, etc.; troubleshoots, replaces, and repairs hardware, electronic devices, and software to resolve end-user problems at school sites; performs hardware and software configuration, installation and maintenance of digital devices for schools; including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, scanners, etc.; documents all changes to school computing devices; responds to work orders as dispatched by the IT Help desk and maintains daily work log; orders parts for jobs as needed.

    Maintains digital device and I.T. asset inventory with the use of serial numbers; oversees the allocation of all devices to school site; trains staff on proper use of electronic devices; provides team leadership in the deployment and return of one-to-one laptops; maintains neat and orderly work area; performs data entry as needed; performs other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
    Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
    Knowledge of common problems with computers.
    Knowledge of program languages for personal computers.
    Knowledge of software manuals and technical support.
    Skill in developing computer applications
    Skill in maintaining inventory.
    Skill in preparing and maintaining documents and reports.
    Skill in following oral and written instructions
    Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent walking, bending, sitting, vision to monitor and lifting up to 25 pounds. May be exposed to dangerous or inadequate equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Two (2) years of experience with computer applications and end user support, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
    Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.

    Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.

    Salary Grade: 18 Hourly Pay: $17.96Hours per Day: 8.0 Days: 260 Start Date: 2020/2021 School Year
