The Toros Soccer Program Director is responsible for developing and implementing instruction, coaching and training programs for our Student-Athletes to ensure each IDEA student has the opportunity to participate in a high quality athletic experience; this includes supervision, coaching and development of Toros Soccer Program Coaches. The Toros Soccer Program Director also coordinates and manages the MLS Next program for elite athletes.
Goals:

● Plan and execute recruitment events, such as ID camps, tryouts, etc.
● Promote events in the community
● 90% of MLS teams attends IDEA Toros
● 50% of club players in IDEA Toros
2. 90% Persistence
● Welcome to MLS orientation meeting
● Initial parent meeting for setting expectations
● Quarterly touchpoints with families at Report Card Pickup
● Quarterly evaluations for 100% of athletes
● Evaluation meetings with every family by December
3. 100% of senior athletes receive athletic offers
● Evaluations for 100% of senior athletes completed by August 20th
● 100% of athletes finalize highlight reels by September 3rd
● 100% of athletes complete athletic profile
● 100% of athletes e-mail at least 10 coaches per quarter

Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and monitor soccer training programs for MLS student athletes in order to achieve performance progress
• Supervise full/part time staff, Charter League coaches, etc. who assist with the Toros soccer program
• Administer the campsu athletic budget to ensure that programas are cost effective, funds are managed prudently, and program has sufficient equipment
• Liaison with MLS Next, attends meetings on behalf of Toros MLS Next club
• Coach MLS team(s)
• Liaison with RGV FC Toros Youth Academy pre-MLS/Champions League programs to ensure non-MLS players continue development through the club.
• Manage, support, and evaluate the performance of campus coaching staff
• Meet with coaches to discuss sport and player specific needs and design programs accordingly*
• Assesses the skill development of each student-athlete, and partners with coaches to ensure their ongoing comprehensive development, including quarterly performance reviews*
• Develops motivational approach to practice and games; incorporates school vision
• Responsible for overseeing staff for soccer camps staffing and working with APO on operations, scheduling and delivery, including an active role in daily camp coaching.
• Support recruiting and retention initiatives aimed at current and prospective student-athletes as required
• Responsible for team discipline and accountability of both student-athletes and coaches
• Partners with the student-athlete's parent/guardian regarding their overall development
• Effectively communicates to student-athletes and their parents/guardians
• Ensures that proper safety is maintained
• Assists in the college placement of the student-athlete
• Travels to games and other events as needed
• Manage and coach P.E. Sessions daily for all IDEA Toros students of varying ability Monday through Friday, and MLS practices a minimum of 4 times per week per team.
• Organize and supervise the Charter League coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and ethic codes of IDEA Toros, IDEA Public Schools, MLS, TCSAAL, as well as federal and state laws.
• Quarterly evaluations of all players
• Ensure supervision of student athletes on the field, in conditioning, in locker/shower rooms
• Ensure that health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
• Coordinate logistics for competition travel, including but not limited to, rosters, hotel reservations, travel arrangements, student safety & supervision, chaperone training and supervision.
• Communicate and enforce expected student behavior related to athletics
• Attends all practices and training sessions as needed, during season and off-season
• Develop systems and expectations for verifying each athlete's eligibility at pre-determined intervals
• Coordinate athletic operations including facilities, officiating, and ticket sales for MLS events
• Assist Athletic Director in organizing and supervising the Charter League coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented.
• Other duties as assigned by Toros Soccer Program Director, Principal, or other administrative staff

Qualifications:
• Degree in exercise science or related fields
• Must hold a minimum ‘USSF A' license (or equivalent as recognized by MLS NEXT Program Staff), including but not limited to the Elite Formation Coaching License (EFCL) or U.S. Soccer Academy Directors' Course.
• 5+ years of experience in coaching, curriculum development and player development preferred
• Management experience to include coaching, development, interviewing, etc.
• Proficiency in all soccer training and instructional techniques
• Excellent teaching, management, organization and supervisory skills
• Strong commitment to student-athletes and their development
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to comprehensive excellence
