Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Itinerant Gifted & Talented Teacher identifies, documents and provides program support for students in need of gifted and talented services according to district guidelines. Writes and implements a building plan for gifted services and develops and documents Advanced Learning Plans (ALP) for all identified gifted students by working collaboratively with teachers, parents and students on identified strength area(s). Provides expertise and professional development with instruction and use of materials and extensions to teachers for differentiation for advanced learners and GT students.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

Must posses a current Colorado Department of Education Teachers License with an endorsement in Gifted & Talented Education.\nPrevious experience working with Gifted & Talented students preferred.

Provides instruction for highly gifted and high achieving students. Expands, enriches and accelerates district curriculum as appropriate for advanced learners. Collaborates with students and parents to prepare Individual Learning Plan for students in strength areas. Plans and coordinates mentorships, tutoring, and distance learning. Experience working with gifted children who represent the diversity of the Denver Public Schools community is preferred.

Provides instruction to linguistically diverse students in English only.
