Research, design, and facilitate outdoor experiential education programs, primarily team building on low and high challenge courses and mobile programs including ground based team building and on-site rock climbing
  • Assist in developing and leading challenge course trainings
  • Work collaboratively with other Outdoor Programs Field Supervisors to assist in other areas as needed
  • Assist with recruitment, training and evaluation of outdoor program instructors
  • Assist with promotion of programs and recruitment of participants
  • Act as a lead facilitator for Challenge Course programs and provide oversight of seasonal set up and take down
  • Oversee Challenge Course maintenance and inspections for two outdoor challenge courses
  • Maintain knowledge of current experiential and outdoor program trends, knowledge of challenge course operations and maintenance guidelines
  • Promote a positive working environment for all part time program staff
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

FTE/Hours Per Week:
Varies; 18-40 hours per week

Salary:

$18/hour

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and recreation program planning knowledge
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google platforms
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic personality and highly motivated with a positive attitude
  • Prior experience working directly utilizing experiential learning principles
  • Documented facilitator hours that attest to background knowledge of technical challenge course systems including both static and dynamic belay systems.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of post high school education in recreation, education or related field
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors for up to 8 hours
  • Ability and comfortability working at height and lifting up to 30lbs


Desired Qualifications:
  • Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Level II or Challenge Course Manager certification, or documented hours necessary to receive certification
  • Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI) Top Rope Guide certification
  • Prior supervisory experience in an outdoor experiential learning environments including challenge courses and/or outdoor rock climbing
  • Prior experience in challenge course maintenance and inspection


Other Information:

Seasonal position that varies work hours based on season. In high season working up to 40 hours per week, in off seasons up to 18 hours per week.
