The West Chester Area School District seeks a dynamic individual with integrity, visionary leadership, superior communication skills, and outstanding administrative ability for the position of Assistant Superintendent. This administration position will be available on August 14, 2021 due to the appointment of the assistant superintendent as the new superintendent.

Successful candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to interact effectively with all staff members and demonstrate a sincere interest in the education of all students. Must be skilled in motivating and evaluating staff; be knowledgeable on educational trends; have a record of fiscal responsibility; and ability to establish a culture of professional and academic excellence. Twelve-(12) month position, with the salary negotiable and competitive, based on training and experience, qualifications and meeting board criteria including but not limited to the skills listed above. PA letter of eligibility required.

Summary of position

This person is responsible for the district’s comprehensive plan, assessment of district programing K-12, professional development and secondary education.  The Assistant Superintendent also works closely with other appropriate District personnel, including assessment, curriculum, pupil services, equity, facilities, finance, human resources, and technology, in a cooperative and advising capacity.  S/he is responsible for District level activities that pertain to general administration of the District on both a long-term and day-to-day basis, as well as those services that have a direct bearing on students’ learning outcomes.  The assistant superintendent also represents the superintendent in the official capacity as a school district representative for community, and partnership events.
