PURPOSE: To independently oversee the primary functions of the school library including student supervision and the circulation, organization, maintenance, and fee collection of library materials. Support students and staff in the use of print and digital media.

Hours: 6.5 hours per day
Contract Status: Regular/Probationary
FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Classified
Start Date: August 31, 2021
Calendar: 179 Work Days
Rate: $16.70 per hour with benefits (note: this is the 2020-21 hourly rate, 2021-22 hourly rate TBD)
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee's salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An associate's (or higher) degree, two years post secondary study (72 quarter or 48 semester credits), or a passing score on a district approved assessment.Knowledge and experience in library/media programs and functions.Ability to understand the building/program's instructional goals and carry out work assignments in a manner that supports those goals.Mastery of library and office systems equipment, multimedia, and technology.Ability to diagnose and problem-solve software and equipment difficulties.Ability to formulate ideas for program improvement.Ability to understand and implement the school/program's student discipline policy.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to independently plan, organize, and carry out work assignments, and to plan and direct the work of volunteers and student assistants.Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with individuals and groups of all ages, and to manage student behavior.
