Role Mission:  The Grants Project Manager (GPM) will play a critical role in enabling the IDEA Advancement team to raise $51 million by planning and executing Advancement operations. The Grants Project Manager will develop and maintain a repository of common grant narrative language and documents, and ensure it is easily accessible and relevant to each director of development. The  GPM will also create an annual grant reporting calendar utilizing salesforce records and support the team in updating and maintaining reporting records in the database. The GPM will use analytical and detail-oriented skills to extract internal data for funding applications and reports to demonstrate evidence of need and progress by leading data requests as well as managing and maintaining a data repository used by all advancement team members. Additionally, the GPM will conduct market research for future regions and recently greenlit regions for IDEA's expansion.  The GPM will report to the Director of Advancement Operations.

 

Accountabilities

 
Create and maintain a repository of common grant narrative language and documents to provide the advancement team with efficient grant writing support
  • Create a repository of well-written, compelling, and approved responses to common questions found in grant applications- updated each year with new information e.g. student population, academic performance, expansion regions etc.
  • Capture questions from grant applications and their response in repository for easy searchability from team members.
  • Organize a repository of commonly used supporting documents for grant applications and communicate updates to the advancement team
  • Ensure 100% of team members have easy access to the grant application repository.

 
Create and maintain an annual grant reporting calendar in Salesforce of all grant requirements in the Development team's portfolio
  • Create an annual grant reporting calendar in salesforce of all annual grant requirements, categorized at minimum by award amount, complexity and region/portfolio.
  • Ensure 100% of grant reports, requirements & conditions are accurately recorded in Salesforce
  • Complete 2 exemplar grant reports, per region, to support the facilitation of cash receipt
  • Ensure all grant related files are correctly uploaded to salesforce with consistent naming conventions

 
Lead all internal and comparative data requests from the Advancement Team to other IDEA teams and staff and maintain a data repository for commonly used statistics and figures
  • Contribute to successful federal, state, foundation, and individual funding applications supporting IDEA's growth by seeking quantitative and qualitative data aligned to grant application narratives
  • Maintain & update a data search guide and team training documents used by all advancement team members to find data within IDEA and state databases, e.g. LOCUS, TAPR, etc 
  • Maintain and update a repository of data demonstrating need, demographics, outcomes and progress that is easily accessible and used by all Advancement team members 

 
Conduct market research for future regions and recently greenlit regions for IDEA's expansion guiding the advancement team's recommendations for growth based on demographic analysis.
  • Conduct thorough research into top 3 regions of IDEA's priority areas for growth, often at a neighborhood-by-neighborhood or zip code level, around demographics, student achievement, school quality, income, population trends, charters, and family demand
  • Produce external-ready resources for top growth regions detailing the demographic and educational need of a potential growth region, the impact IDEA could make on neighborhoods and areas, and return on investment associated with supporting this growth

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience: 2+ years of experiencein a professional role
