Primary Summer Enrichment Teacher
We are hiring certified and non-certified WPS personnel to facilitate the Obstacle Course summer enrichment courses at Oliver Ellsworth School from July 6 - 29 (excluding Fridays) 9 am - 12 pm.

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
The primary summer enrichment teacher will be responsible for facilitating the Obstacle Course to engage primary students in physical education, problem solving, critical thinking and social-emotional learning. The primary summer enrichment teacher will work directly with the Director of STEM to plan and implement the enrichment course:
Obstacle Course (Description): Students will use physical skills and problem solving to create fun obsticle courses that challenge them physically and mentally. These courses could also be outdoors using natural elements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attend orientation on June 16, 2021
2. Work directly with the Director of Arts and Humanities or the STEM Director to plan enrichment course
3. Order and prepare all materials needed for the enrichment course in advance of the enrichment course
4. Record attendance
5. Communicate with families
6. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Summer Lead Teacher/Coordinator and/or Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services.

NOTE: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility. Summer school personnel must be able to attend the orientation on June 16th and work the entire program time. No vacation or personal time will be granted. Hiring will take place in May and based on student enrollment.

Qualifications:
  • Connecticut Teacher Certification preferredSatisfactory attendance/performance
Education
  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary or Secondary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment

  • Summer Lead Teacher/Coordinator
