Position Overview
The Academic Accelerator Teacher is a member of the Academic AccelerationProgram, which is a pro-active program designed to support general education students who are performing significantly below grade level benchmarks and standards. Students considered for entry into this program will be those who are identified as being in the bottom percentile of students according to beginning of year diagnostics. Conduct eight week acceleration cycles with targeted students by analyzing academic performance, designing instructional action plans and monitoring progress. This is an exempt position and reports to the Academic Acceleration Coordinator.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct small groups of students in reading or math across elementary and middle schools during four - eight week acceleration cycles
  • Analyze student data to design instructional action plans
  • Monitor progress of instruction action plans with assessments, daily instructional notes and weekly summary reports
  • Provide weekly summary report to program coordinator
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders as needed


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of three years lead teaching experience in literacy or math (preferred)
  • Expertise in assessing, analyzing and instructing students who struggle with reading or numeracy
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
  • Experience with intervention programs for students who struggle with reading or numeracy
  • Strong data analysis skills across multiple sources of data
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
