POSITION TITLE: Coordinator II: Payroll
REPORTS TO: Executive Director - Finance CATEGORY: Administration/12 Months/IMRF
FLSA: Exempt SALARY: Regionally Competitive
Primary Purpose: Coordinate and assure successful processing of employee payroll. Prepare required payroll-related reports.
Essential Functions
· Prepare payrolls for all District personnel
· Maintain payroll ledgers
· Compute all voluntary and involuntary deductions
· Compute all salary adjustments
· Filing of all quarterly and annual federal and state payroll taxes
· Filing of all annual Teachers Retirement System and Illinois Municipal Retirement System Reports
· Ad Hoc analyses
· Responsible for payroll training and professional development
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Executive Director - Finance
· Willing to schedule vacations around job requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following required education, certification, skills, experience and/or qualifications:
· Post high school education
· Prior experience as a payroll coordinator, clerk or manager
The successful candidate for this position should also possess the following desired skills, experience and/or qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field
· Experience processing payroll through Infinite Visions
· Experience as a payroll coordinator in a school district.
· Strong technical skills relative to the management of payroll systems
· Computer skills, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, personnel and payroll systems
· Understanding of federal and state payroll and tax laws and regulations
· Experience with pension payroll accounting (TRS and IMRF)
· Understanding of business office procedures
· Good communication skills
· Aptitude for detailed work
· Strong analytical skills
· Ability to work independently
· Evidence of successful work experience and a strong attendance
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
· Ability to assist in training and motivating staff in an effective manner

• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Limited travel is required.
• Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
• Stand, walk, crouch, and do moderate lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Knowledge of multimedia equipment and current technology.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
