Hours Per Day: 7.5

Salary Range: New hires will be set at $14.84 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $14.84 to $19.48 per hour.

Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Kindergarten Paraprofessional assists with student instruction in designated subject areas (e.g., reading, writing, math, science, social studies) and provides care and discipline of Kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher. The Kindergarten Paraprofessional performs classroom duties which may include but are not limited to preparing instructional materials, assisting with student instruction, care and discipline, and keeping the classroom clean and well-organized.

Education Requirements:

Copy of official/unofficial transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. You do not need a course-by-course, just a basic evaluation. Visit www.naces.org for approved service members).

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math.

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the WorkKeys exam, if passed prior to June 2018, in reading for information and applied mathematics. Score of 4 or higher in both is required.

OR

Copy of your high school diploma or GED and SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of minimum 500+ in Math and 470+ in Reading.

Required Scores are:

- Reading score of 536 or higher

- Math score of 547 or higher
