Location: Proviso West
Compensation: $5,000 program stipend for onsite instructors.
$4,500 program stipend for online instructors.
Description:
Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking instructors for its summer flight program. Instructors will implement blended learning practices to support students completing online coursework via Edgenuity.
Dates:
Session A June 7, 2021 - June 24, 2021
Session B June 28, 2021 - July 19, 2021; no school July 5, 2021
Instructor hours: 7:50 am - 12:15 pm; except as noted below:
• Monday, June 7, 2021; 7:30 am start time for the Beginning of Program meeting.
• Monday, July 19, 2021; 1:00 pm end time following the End of Program meeting.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Valid Illinois Professional Educators License with secondary endorsement in area of desired
employment
• Strong technology skills
Position Responsibilities:
• Mentor and coach students on strategies that encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and collaboration.
• Work with students one on one, or in small groups to introduce, reteach or review concepts.
• Promote student success through clear expectations, prompt responses, and regular feedback.
• Utilize data daily to differentiate instruction and guide student learning.
• Track and monitor student progress in each course.
• Promote regular feedback, timely response, and clear expectations for learning and course completion.
• Differentiate for students with special needs, language needs, or different learning styles.
• Record final course grades in PowerSchool after each course completed by students.
• Understand and use a range of technologies that effectively support student learning and communication, while modeling legal and safe behavior related to technology use.
Professionally Related Competencies
• Perform promptly the responsibilities stipulated in Board of Education policies and administrative procedures.
• Model and enforce classroom and school rules, policies, and procedures.
• Cooperate with other educational personnel.
• Reflect on professional practice and make necessary adjustments to ensure student success.
• Attend each day of the program. Absences, for any reason, will result in a reduced stipend payment.
• Be punctual in arrival times to the building and to class.
