Special Education Summer Program
Location - Middle School - In-Person
Monday - Friday begining Tuesday, July 6, 2021 - August 16, 2021
The expectation is that teachers and teaching assistants will be present for all days.

Special Education - Self-Contained
The following positions are available and will be assigned based upon student enrollment, and the expectation is that teachers/therapists will be present for all days that are assigned.
3 Speech/Language Therapists (approximately 15 -25 hours/week per therapist)
See separate posting for School Counselor or School Psychologist.
Applicants must be properly certified in the subject, grade level or specialty area for which they are applying. Hiring preference will be given to applicants with current teaching experience in the subject, grade level or assignment for which they are applying.
All positions are contingent upon enrollment, maintenance of enrollment and student attendance. Teachers will not be paid when students are absent. If attendance rate drops during Summer School, staff requirements and needs will be adjusted accordingly. The expectation is that teachers will be present for all days. Lapses in attendance will be considered when hiring for future Summer School employment opportunities.
Room and Curriculum Preparation:
High School, Middle School, Elementary School and Special Education - Two hours for room and curriculum preparation are available on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Upon receiving the Summer School assignment, you must email your Summer School supervisor indicating that you will come to the Middle School from 8:00a-10:00a on Thursday, July 1, 2021 for room preparation. Your intentions to participate in room and curriculum preparation are due by Thursday, June 24, 2021. Class lists and other pertinent information will be available through email. You will not be compensated without prior approval.
Curriculum Preparation: Mandatory Workshop for all teachers K-8 and the school library media specialist - This workshop will provide time for summer school employees to become steeped in the curriculum, to ask questions, to plan for the use of a variety of resources and to devleop a thorough understanding of the delivery of the content. June 28, 2021 (Location TBD- participants will be notified in advance of the location.)

All employees will be required to use the electronic time keeping system each day in lieu of submitting time sheets to principals for payroll. Once employees receive and accept a summer school position, NEW employees to summer school must schedule an appointment to stop in the business office between 7am - 2pm Monday - Friday to be processed for the electronic time system if not already enrolled. This is only if you are NEW to teaching summer school. Former summer school employees will not need to make an appointment.

- Teachers as per the LSCTA Contract @ $40.16 per hour
- Teaching Assistants as per the LSCTA Contract @ $27.00 per hour
- Summer School Preparation and Clean-Up @ $28.41 per hour
- Summer School Training/Workshop @ $21.64
