Cambridge Public Schools seeks a Project Manager to play a critical role in the Information, Communications and Technology Services (ICTS) department.

Overview:
The Project Manager (PM) position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The PM's primary responsibilities are, but not limited to, all aspects of coordinating planning and implementing the role out of new IT projects. This position is a member of the ICTS team and will be dedicated to coordinating and managing implementation meetings, project scopes, solution strategies, requirement definitions, Requests for bids/quotes and training to successfully implement new projects across the school district to have a positive impact on student outcomes.

Duties may include:
  • Conducting needs assessments for various departments throughout the district
  • Defining project scopes
  • Creation of implementation teams
  • Engaging stakeholders and defining deliverables
  • Engaging staff and vendor teams
  • Researching existing solutions and products
  • Developing functional specifications
  • Arranging demonstrations
  • Writing formal bid or quote request documents
  • Guiding teams in evaluating proposals
  • Shepherding contracts through final agreement
  • Developing or approving project plan with vendor
  • Planning for risk management and containment
  • Working with teams through configuration implementation
  • Specifying and assisting with data interfaces
  • Developing rollout plan
  • Creating training materials
  • Conducting trainings
  • Providing tech support to projects through transition to technical support team
  • Consulting with department, school and central office staff on future projects.
  • Liaising with the city purchasing department
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher, advanced degree preferred, prior project management experience, prior K-12 education experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide effective project management and guidance to technology based implementations, experience implementing systems in educational settings, experience with data systems, excellent written and oral communication skills, highly organized team player and task oriented.
