Literacy Coach

Intermediate District 287 is looking for a qualified Literacy Coach like you for an opening at South Education Center in Richfield, MN!

Intermediate District 287 is a west metro district for learners with unique needs. As an intermediate district, we provide specialized services, primarily setting IV special education, to students from 11 member districts in the west metro.

Position Details:

  • This is a three-year, grant-funded position
  • Build the capacity of Tier 1 (core) classroom teachers to close the literacy achievement gap by supporting teachers' capacity to implement best-practice instruction, increasing student engagement, and improving student academic achievement
  • Provide this support via job-embedded coaching and professional development, instructional literacy leadership, and collaboration
  • Advocate for equity by collaborating with all stakeholders to identify the instructional practices that will help teachers meet the needs of all learners, especially underserved students.
  • As allowed by the grant, an employee in this position will be eligible to serve a minimum of three (3) years, with a limit of 2 consecutive terms for a total of six (6) years in this position. The District reserves the right to extend or reduce the duration of this position.


Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $42,290 - $86,528 DOE and E

Requirements:

  • Experience in culturally responsive teaching/coaching
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current MN teaching license in the literacy-related field, special education, or Core Content Secondary Level
  • Preferred: Dual license (Core + Special Ed)
  • Preferred: Completed a reading licensure program
  • Passed the Minnesota Test Licensure Examinations (MTLE)
  • Proven practices of modeling and assisting teachers with evidence-based literacy practices and aligning curriculum to academic standards
