The Bilingual Middle School Science Position may be for you. Science content is taught entirely in Spanish in grades 6,7 and 8 with bridges and extensions to English. You will be a member of a Dual Language Bilingual Education Program serving bilingual students with home languages in both English and Spanish, so that these students graduate critically conscious and multiculturally competent, bilingual and biliterate.

Our ideal candidate must have:

-Must be able to teach science content in SPANISH, leveraging the cultural funds of knowledge of Latino students

-Must be willing to practice disciplinary biliteracy

-Expertise in Foundational and Second Language Biliteracy development

-Must identify self as an advocate for students and their educational rights

Facilitate:

-analysis data to determine the relationship between variables; application this relationship to analyze new scenarios and predict outcomes.

-development, interpretation, and evaluation of models.

-scientific explanation that includes a claim, evidence that supports the claim, and the reasoning behind the claim.

planning for, carrying out, and communication of results from investigations.

-comparisons, contrasts and extended application in their instructional partner language.
