SALARY
$51,000 to $63,000 DOE

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing overall guidance and counseling services to students. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides a variety counseling services to individual and small groups of students.
2. Develops, organizes and implements developmental, standards-based guidance and counseling program of services.
3. Plans and conducts classroom units designed to assist students in guidance, decision making, etc.
4. Manages a variety of programs designed to provide student guidance, learning and recognition activities.
5. Provides consultative services for students, staff, parents and other appropriate personnel.
6. Assists with the identification of students with special needs.
7. Acts as a resource for staff, parents and others in dealing with difficult students, and students with special needs.
8. Identifies ways in which the counseling program can enhance student achievement.
9. May be involved in student scheduling functions.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
Masters degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
One to five years
SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR PREPARATION
Internship
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Is flexible
Has the ability to work co-operatively with supervisors and co-workers
Maintains a generally positive attitude
Has read the employee handbook to familiarize themselves with pertinent policies
Observes all district policies and procedures
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION
As required by the State of Colorado
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Mostly clean and comfortable
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent sitting
Occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, stooping, kneeling
