Role Mission:
The Family Communications Manager will be responsible for leading the IDEA Public Schools' family communications efforts, infrastructure, resources, and brand alignment, through managing the IDEA's website, campus and regional-level family communications across our established and growing regions, leading IDEA's Family Advisory Council, and providing training and resources for campus receptionists. In this role, the Internal Communications Manager will focus on developing mission and brand-aligned copy, content, and strategic plans to increase family engagement, satisfaction, and student persistence across regions. This includes, but is not limited to partnering with campus contacts on managing campus-based parent communications to consistency and effectiveness. The Internal Communications Manager will report to the Director of Internal and Family Communications and work alongside three Communications Managers to achieve team goals.

Accountabilities:
Internal Communications: Support IDEA's goal of 90% student persistence and 90% new student persistence by leading internal communications at IDEA Public Schools to ensure family communication at IDEA is timely, consistent, and rooted in a scalable and sustainable strategic framework as IDEA's student population continues to grow.
  • Provide oversight for family communications guidelines and project and/or communications requests.
  • Partner with the Academic Services Team and Enrollment Team to develop family-oriented collateral.
  • Support in developing and distributing IDEA family correspondence and publications.
Family Advisory Council: Lead the Family Advisory Council- a voluntary group comprised of four IDEA family members per campus across each IDEA region, and support with the implementation of key meeting takeaways.
  • Coordinate and support with execution of three meetings (fall, spring, and summer) per region where there is a Family Advisory Council
  • Lead correspondence with potential and existing members including, but not limited to, email, phone, Remind, and Facebook group correspondence
  • Lead the selection process of annual members

 
IDEA Family Communications: Advance communications department team goals as needed, including drafting content when needed for family publications and the website.
  • Contribute articles to all department-led communications vehicles as needed
  • Participate in meetings with members of MCE
  • Support on time sensitive requests from leadership
  • Support Director of Internal and Family Communications and the team as whole on internal campaigns to host and amplify throughout the year
Receptionists: Serve as the HQ partner to support IDEA's campus and regional receptionists.

 
  • In partnership with campus operations and lead teams, support with interviews and hiring for campus-based receptionists.
  • Provide ongoing training, guidance and resources to ensure receptionists have the tools and knowledge needed to provide best-in-class customer service in campus front offices.
  • In partnership with the compensation team, support with compensation setting for new receptionist hires.
  • Create and maintain the onboarding plan for Year 0 and Year 1+ campus receptionists
  • Set the annual SDC goals for Year 0 Year 1+ campus receptionists
  • Provide key family communications messages and scripts as needed.
  • Meetings and professional development: Host bi-weekly team tactical meetings with all campus and regional receptionist, bi-weekly Front Office Launch calls for Year 0 receptionists as they plan for Lottery, two professional development sessions-Summer and Winter Institute, and host quarterly meetings with the Receptionist Lead Team.

Qualifications:
 

Education: Bachelor's degree required
Experience: 3+ years related experience

Compensation:

Salaries for people entering this role typically start between $57,100 and $$68,500, commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organization goal attainment.
