Summary:

The MTSS Coach will support teachers in the continuous improvement process in reading and/or mathematics skills in core content areas. The MTSS Coach will provide job-embedded professional development and technical support to Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Response to Intervention (RTI) interventionists, and other school staff in implementing the MTSS problem solving process and selecting/implementing academic interventions and ensuring treatment integrity.

Qualifications:

• At least five (5) years of experience in successful teaching at the secondary level (7-12). 
• Working knowledge of secondary tier one instructional practices and interventions
• Working knowledge of Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and the problem-solving process
• Working knowledge of research-based and best practice academic interventions in reading and/or mathematics
• Demonstrated leadership and project organizational skills, (planning, implementing, evaluation)
• Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to project implementation and other problem solving
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional coaching
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups, (teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff)
• Demonstrated knowledge of teaching diverse learners

 Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid Virginia Teaching License with Secondary endorsement
• Master's Degree preferred

Salary:

Range based on the 2021-2022 Teacher Salary Scale is $45,500 - $75,191 per year with additional stipend for advanced degree and pay for 20 extra days.

Workday:

Full time/10 month/220 Day Contract
