The Vice Principal is responsible for supporting the integration and administration of School Lane Charter School curriculum, culture, and discipline for grades 7 and 8. The ideal candidate for this position will act as mentor and provide support in effective teaching practices and classroom management to teaching staff in grades 7 and 8 and assigned subject department. He/She will also promote the building of a culture of caring, inquiry, and life-long learning where students will feel safe to explore their world through thought provoking questions, dynamic discussion, and real world, project-based and problem-based learning scenarios. This position requires significant independent analysis and problem-solving skills, as well as an in-depth working knowledge of diverse teaching strategies, best practices for effective classroom management and full understanding of educational and social development of students in the middle and high school years. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the IB Middle Years and/or Diploma Programs, Restorative Practices and inquiry-based instruction.

In addition to being knowledgeable and a life-long learner, the ideal Vice Principal Candidate will have:

• Master's Degree with a minimum of five years teaching experience at the secondary level
• PA Principal Certification
• Demonstrated competence in curriculum design, development, and implementation
• Experience with IB Middle Years or Diploma Programs a plus
• Excellent leadership skills
• Understanding and commitment to inclusive schooling
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Strong researching, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all students, staff, parents, and community organizations
