HIRING SALARY RANGE: $42,798 - $60,147 per year

POSITION SALARY RANGE: $42,798 - $101,571 per year

MTSS Coordinator:

Eagle Valley Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator who will work to develop and promote a culture of high expectations with high levels of support to ensure success for all students.

MTSS Coordinator/Interventionist will be responsible for facilitating MTSS at EVMS through attending team meetings, managing student MTSS & READ plans, and teaching small group reading interventions. Collaborate with general education teachers to provide research-based interventions to use in the classrooms and monitor the fidelity of implementation. Position will help with data management, progress monitoring, and communicating with staff and parents. Position will collaborate with the district MTSS Coordinator and run lead EVMS' MTSS site team.

The MTSS Coordinator will be positioned as a key conduit between several programs and departments in the building. The person in this role will be expected to connect the following systems of support into plans for student intervention.
  • Administrative team - supporting student behavior systems
  • Counseling team - servings as a liaison in student and parent meetings and offering supports that exist both in the building and in the community
  • ELD and SPED team - coordinating instructional and individual student ELD and SPED interventions
  • Grade level teams - promoting systems of support within all academic departments (tier 1 interventions for all and tier 2 & 3 for individual students)
  • Monitors the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level including both academic and behavior support systems through analysis of data and survey evidence as it becomes available.
  • Measurement tools for various levels of assessment; including adaptive and curriculum-based measurement.
  • Opportunities will also be presented to connect PBIS through classes.

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
  • Select, supervise and evaluate support staff.
  • Provide for a safe and orderly work environment for students and staff.
  • Provide leadership and support in implementation of building discipline plan.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students which respect their dignity as persons and which promote their learning.
  • Implement procedures to ensure fair and consistent student attendance and student decorum.
  • Establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships with staff members.
  • Advocate and support parents assuming an active role in their children's schooling.
  • Assist Special Education staff in developing student education plans.
  • Monitor the condition of the building and grounds to assure a clean, orderly and safe environment.
  • Demonstrate positive and clear communication with all individuals and groups.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.
  • Must be "Highly Qualified" according to the State of Colorado's definition of "Highly Qualified" under the No Child Left Behind Act (effective January 1, 2004 for current teachers and 2002-03 for newly hired teachers).
  • Possess relevant prior experience including 3 years of successful teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate effective problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate conflict resolution skills.
  • Possess (or gain within 6 months) of basics in Special Education.
