Essex High School, recently ranked the #50 STEM school in the country by Newsweek, is seeking a part-time (0.6 FTE) mathematics teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. Course assignments may include multiple levels from pre-algebra to Advanced Placement, including intervention support, and we are looking for teachers with strong pedagogical practices.

  • Is eligible to hold or holds a valid VT Educator license with a Mathematics endorsement (2-11). Individuals who hold a corresponding teaching license outside the state of VT shall be considered equally.

For column placement on the salary schedule we consider credits earned after the date of your degree (bachelor's or master's) in which you received a grade of B or better. For step placement, we grant one step for every year of previous public school teaching experience for the first five years, then one step for every two years of public school teaching experience thereafter. We also consider directly related industry experience (e.g., private school, college) by granting one step for every two years of full-time experience in most cases.
