Minimum Experience: Five years of experience with students with disabilities
and two years administrative experience

Qualifications Required:

  • Experience with career pathways for high school and adult students with disabilities
  • Understanding of the Regents Reform Agenda and SED initiatives to implement learning
    standards in support of special education programs and services
  • Implement evidence-based practices and communication strategies
  • Can coordinate and complete tasks simultaneously to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Understanding of APPR and ability to implement within the organization
  • Budgeting and budget processes
General Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review classroom enrollment and related service provider schedules on a monthly basis
  • Conduct site visitations for effectiveness/efficiency of program.
  • Oversee specially-designed instruction within the consultant teacher model.
  • Evaluate teachers and related service providers who are in probationary period in accordance
    with APPR requirements to determine appropriate actions/interventions.
  • Complete all unannounced evaluations of first year probationary teachers
  • Provide program guidance and support to supervisors in the evaluation of teachers and support staff
  • Assist in hiring all instructional staff.
  • Assist in planning Superintendent Conference Days.
  • Lead, for assigned departments, the BOCES personalized learning initiative
  • Represent E 2 CCB when working collaboratively with component district personnel and community agencies.
  • Interact with various administrators within departments of E 2
  • Support administrators by being the leader of programming specific to behavior management and issues that involve collaborative problem solving
  • Lead classroom team meetings within the highly specialized classrooms across E2CCB and develop targeted programmatic interventions and planning in conjunction with the behavior support team
  • Assist in facilitating ongoing curriculum development and learning standards utilizing internal support services within the IES department.
  • Implement APPR, including managing/monitoring STAR enrollments and review student learning objectives for rigor and accuracy
  • Monitor and track professional development hours for probationary instructional staff
  • Support the coordination of special education summer school planning and implementation
  • Coordinate the purchasing of K-12 related curriculum materials
  • Assist in advancing an understanding of alternative instruction for a variety of prescriptive needs for students with educational challenges with general education requirements
  • Assist districts in finding and securing appropriate placements within BOCES programs for high needs students
  • Attend Regional Curriculum Council, SEAC, Principal/Supervisors, Leadership and Site Based Leadership meetings
Accountable For:
  • Implementing APPR and alignment of teaching performance review with New York State requirements.
  • Developing a data-driven culture for alternative and special education.
  • Supporting principals to become instructional leaders.
  • Ensuring that all negotiated union agreements are adhered to and reflected in performance reviews.
Other:
  • Must be able to travel by vehicle across the region
  • Flexible hours
  • Must be available and visible for BOCES and community events throughout the BOCES region as requested by Supervisor
