Essex Westford School District is seeking a full-time licensed Speech Language Pathologist to serve students requiring SLP services at Summit Street Elementary School beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. This position involves directing services and development of instruction to children with developmental delays, autism, and other disability areas in an inclusive small group and 1:1 setting; evaluating speech and language for the same; and case management of cases appropriately aligned with an SLP.

Individuals with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
  • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT Educator license with a Speech Language Pathologist endorsement (0-84) is required. Individuals who hold a corresponding teaching license outside the state of VT shall be considered equally.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency-Speech-Language Pathology, and experience instructing and assessing children grades K-5 preferred.
  • Experience working with elementary school aged youth
  • Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and support the various learning styles of students
  • Ability to effectively engage students at the elementary school level
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the student population being served and how demographic variables impact student achievement, and effectively uses this knowledge to effectively design and delivery instruction.
  • Effectively integrates social and emotional learning skills through regular interactions with students.

For column placement on the salary schedule we consider credits earned after the date of your degree (bachelor's or master's) in which you received a grade of B or better. For step placement, we grant one step for every year of previous public school teaching experience for the first five years, then one step for every two years of public school teaching experience thereafter. We also consider directly related industry experience (e.g., private school, college) by granting one step for every two years of full-time experience in most cases.
