Minimum Qualifications: Must have a bachelor’s Degree in related filed Must have 2 to 4 Years of related experience Must have strong knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid. Completion of FSA Coach Fundamentals Course Completion of Fundamentals of Federal Student Aid Administration course Strong knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Ability to apply knowledge of policies to individual situations. Problem identification and critical thinking skills. Ability to calculate financial aid eligibility with attention to detail and accuracy. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Written and verbal communication skills. Active listening skills. Strong Customer service orientation. Interpersonal skills. Proficiency with office suites, internet, and email applications.

Fundamental Responsibilities: The Financial Aide Officer provides financial aid information and advising to prospective and current students. In conjunction with the campus financial aid office, departments and organizations external to the school, determines and adjusts students’ financial aid packages that include grants, scholarships, fellowships, and loans. Administers the financial aid program and provides application counseling. Decides to award scholarships, grants, and other monetary rewards. Audits and Reconciles financial aid accounts.

Work Duties: Provides advice and information to current and prospective students and parents on financial aid Policies, procedures, and regulations. Provides financial aid advising in person and by email or phone to prospective, current, and Graduated students, and be able to provide individual counseling on non-routine, sensitive aid issues. Analyze financial data, family circumstances, and educational goals and apply knowledge of federal, state, College/University and outside agency laws, regulations and policies to determine students’ eligibility for various types of aid. • Analyze reports to resolve eligibility problems. • Certify Private loan eligibility • Recommends adjustments to aid awards or policy/procedures. • Identify available resources and unmet needs to determine appropriate allocation of aid awards for individual students. • Exercise professional judgment to authorize changes in financial aid awards that include grants, scholarships, fellowships and loans. • Analyze exception reports of students whose aid packages could not be handled by automated Programming and determine action needed to resolve issues to provide student aid allocations. • Reconcile student data from multiple sources and identify and resolve mismatches and errors. • Recommend changes in financial aid policy or procedures to benefit students in specific demographic groups such as New Admits, Transfer students, Reentry students, and students Withdrawing from the College. • Coordinates with other College departments to implement and evaluate student-focused activities,Programs and services. • May consult with other College departments or external agencies on procedural issues or individual Student’s eligibility. • Advises departments on existing financial aid policy or procedures to benefit students in available Options. • Participates on standing department committees, such as CARS UserGroup, and Grad/Professional staff meetin
