The Opportunity :
The Rindge Avenue Upper School is seeking to hire a Math Coach/Interventionist for a 1-year position during the 2021 - 2022 school year. This is a school level leadership opportunity, responsible for working with grade level teams and other math interventionists to support classroom instruction and targeted math support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Skillfully facilitate student learning of grade level content and practice standards.
  • Empower a diverse group of learners via compassionate math instruction, guided by district curriculum maps and using Illustrative Math as the primary resource alongside other supplemental materials.
  • Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practice.
  • Collaborate with the math department to support best practices in instruction
  • Leverage and support students in using technology in math instruction
  • Serve as a member on the Educator Leadership Team and other leadership teams and responsibilities assigned by the Upper Head
  • Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies in order to inform and modify instruction, as well as target intervention and enrichment needs.
  • Partner with families to include them in each student's learning and development, guided by a profound understanding of the importance of this connection.
  • Attend regular school and department meetings.
  • Serve as a member on the Educator Leadership Team and other leadership teams and responsibilities assigned by the Upper Head
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Math Coach/Interventionist you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:
  • Five or more years of Mathematics teaching experience in the middle grades.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Education strongly preferred.
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certification/Licensure in Mathematics required.
  • Experience using data to determine intervention groups and to inform instruction.
  • Experience coaching middle school math teachers.
