    Human Resources Generalist (Part-Time)

    University Height Charter School is seeking an Human Resources professional.

    POSITION GOAL: The Human Resources Generalist runs the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department including hiring and interviewing staff, enforcing company policies and practices, and assisting with HR operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred;
    At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred;
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
    Ability to prioritize tasks;
    Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality;
    Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations;
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software;
    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems

    REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

    2. Assists with all internal and external HR related matters.

    3. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

    4. Verifies and maintains I-9 documentation. Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits I-9 forms.

    5. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

    6. Assists with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.

    7. Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.

    8. Assists with new hire onboarding, orientations and updates records of new staff.

    9. Manage the organization's employee database and prepare reports.

    10. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

    11. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

    12. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

    13. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance; assists in audits.

    14. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    15. Performs other duties as assigned.

    16. Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, processing incoming/outgoing mail, or coordinating department social functions.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month (Part-time) - 25 hours per week.

    EVALUATIONS: The Human Resources Generalist will be evaluated by the Director of Human Resources
