    TITLE: Cafeteria Manager, Summer Feeding Program

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No less than three years of employment in institutional, commercial or school food service operation involving the administration or planning of the daily program of food service.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping principles and general cafeteria management techniques.
  • Certified in food safety.
  • Customer Service is a major component of ensuring that the students of New London have a learning environment that is friendly, courteous and welcoming.
  • Such alternative or additional qualifications as the Board may consider acceptable.

  • REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager and Building Principal

    SUPERVISES: Cafeteria employees assigned to the designated elementary school.

    JOB GOAL: To administer the child nutrition program at the operational level in the elementary
    school.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares all state mandated reports pertaining to food service.
  • Evaluates employees.
  • Plans and directs the preparation of food and food menus.
  • Orders all food and other necessary supplies.
  • Maintains complete records of all food and supplies received and served, and other financial reports which the programs and the Food Services Manager will require.
  • Maintains a current food service inventory.
  • Prepares all money deposits and fiscal reports as directed by the Food Services Manager.
  • Verifies all bills and submits same to the Food Services Manager.
  • Verifies payroll before submission to the Food Services Manager.
  • Maintains established departmental and district policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, health and safety standards and HACCP standards.
  • Inspects the school lunch facilities on a regular basis to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health and safety are being maintained.
  • Keeps patrons informed of the menus and services offered by the school cafeteria and of the health and educational benefits gained by children through participation in the school food services program.
  • Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, and trust in working with others to achieve goals.
  • Performs such other related tasks as the Food Services Manager assigns.
