Description of Services:
Title I Summer Camp is a five week (3 hours per day) in person, summer learning experience for selected scholars in present Grades JK-4. Camps will operate at Fletcher Maynard Academy, King Open School, Morse School and Peabody School from July 6 to August 6. Each site will have a capacity of 5 classrooms with 12-15 scholars per classroom. A paraprofessional will be in each classroom.

Scholars will be given the opportunity to attend an afternoon enrichment program led by Department of Human Services Staff. Breakfast and transportation will be provided. Scholars will also have the option of participating for an additional two weeks (after the Title I Summer Camp ends, August 9th-20th) to continue with a full day DHS Program.
As a member of the Title I Summer Camp Team, the paraprofessionals will work under the direction of the Learning Camp Site Coordinator and Learning Camp teachers with all duties connected with literacy and math instruction for selected scholars as well as other duties required within the program to help maintain and foster school climate that promotes high expectations for all students.

The Title I Summer Camp Paraprofessional will work four hours each day, plus training dates (focused on involving ELA/Math/SEL curriculum and COVID protocols) prior to the beginning of the Summer Camp. These training dates will include joint training with DHSP Staff to develop shared expectations for student behavior and classroom management across the morning and afternoon sessions. If needed, an additional 1 hour per week of collaborative planning time to be used with colleagues is provided. The Title I Summer Camp Paraprofessional will also help teachers plan at least one parent event.

Requirements:
Associate's Degree or higher under ESSA regulations. Experience working with school age children in a diverse urban setting preferred.

Period of Contract May 24, 2021 through August 6, 2021
Amount of Contract: Not to exceed $3,125
Payment Terms: $25 per hour
