Job Details
The job of Governance and Flexibility Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of implementing the CCSD charter system-operating model and school-based governance including Local School Governance Team elections, flexibility options, facilitating training and documentation; supporting individual schools and district administration in the overall development of charter system governance and flexibility processes and programs as defined in the charter system contract; developing well suited governance that will enable timely and dynamic decision-making within the schools; ensuring the effective operation and efficiency of the Local School Governance Teams (LSGT's) and flexibility requests; and providing leadership to governance teams and District staff in the areas of bylaws, compliance, technical support, data-driven decision-making, best practices, school governance training, communications, and the monitoring and evaluation of governance team activities.

Essential Functions
- Oversees, monitors, and measures the execution of charter system implementation in the district
- Manages the election process for Local School Governance Teams
- Attends LSGT meetings and connects school governance teams to resources and experts within and outside the District
- Develops governance training program, plan, and content (legal guides, financial standards, system programs to include assessment and accountability, governing best practices, federal compliance requirements, communications, public relations, reporting expectations, etc.) needed to train LSGT members
- Creates and facilitates interactive, high quality, in-person and online training for school governance team members including staff, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders
- Monitors LSGT adherence to Open Meetings/Records laws, regulations and provides support on regulations and compliance when needed
- Collaborates with Charter Advisory Committee to defines Bylaws, regulations, and policies for the LSGT
- Develops tools, guidance and protocols to support effective governance practices
- Assists with producing reports on the status of school governance team compliance and effectiveness
- Assists school-based staff to build and support the work of school governance teams
- Assists Local School Governance Teams in the development of innovations aligned to student achievement
- Collaborates with the Data and Research Office on monitoring and evaluation of approved Local School Governance Team flexibility requests and innovations
- Communicates initiatives and strategies from the LSGTs to administration and the surrounding community
- Develops LSGT Governance plans and communicates the plan to Executive Leadership
- Creates and manages the flexibility review process and oversees communications of the process to Executive Leadership
- Produces reports on the status of the school governance team's compliance and effectiveness
- Researches and provides advice to school governance teams regarding school-based solutions
- Assists with maintaining websites and other appropriate communication tools
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Master's degree in education, policy, communications, business administration or related field preferred
Minimum five (5) years' experience working with non-profit and/or public governance
Experience in a K-12 educational institution preferred
Prior supervisory/administrative experience preferred
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing.
