  • POSITION: Special Education Staffing Secretary

    LENGTH: 10-month position, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    START DATE: As soon as possible

    SALARY: Minimum $14.00/hour

    REQUIREMENTS: Special Education experience and knowledge of timelines preferred.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE ( BUT NOT LIMITED TO ):
    • Provide administrative support to the Director and schedule IEP meetings as directed by the Staffing Facilitator.
    • Using the district's calendar, send meeting notices to appropriate staff for all meetings.
    • Schedule Manifestation Determinations and Interim Reviews.
    • Complete and send all staffing notices following federal and state regulations.
    • Send reminder email to parents and make reminder calls the day before the staffing.
    • Reschedule meetings due to parent cancellations or scheduling conflicts.
    • Maintain a calendar of all staffing for school personnel.
    • Perform general office duties including answering phones, greeting the public, typing, filing, sorting and handling incoming and outgoing departmental mail.
    • Respond to requests in a timely manner and demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents and community members.
    • Maintain and update users on Embrace IEP and be available to assist and troubleshoot access issues with both private facility staff and district staff.
    • Maintain accurate and complete case load files, track deadlines for IEP's and notify staff in advance of deadlines.
    • Coordinate CIBS Placement as requested with outside placement schools.
    • Monitor and file quarterly progress reports.
    • Compile and prepare reports for administration and outside government agencies, schools and parent requests.
    • Manage BookShare, second set of books and department equipment usage.
    • File student-related paperwork (ie. release of information, 34-37 Application for Approval of Private Residential Placement Room & Board Reimbursement, etc.).
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
