The Director of Operations will collaborate to oversee the day-to-day activities of the HR divisions, ensuring that the department is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in the hiring and training of HR departmental staff
- Organizes and oversees the hiring and training of division staff
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of division staff
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with District policy
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, standards and data dashboard by which the department's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates HR processes and procedures
- Oversee HR compliance and ensure the department is adhering to all employment, state and federal laws
- Recommends procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
- Collaborates with Risk Manager to ensure work environments are adequate and saff
- Oversees the HR information systems division members, ensuring each is reaching goals set by department and District leadership
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire HR staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
- Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes
- Leads coordination and integration of efforts among Operations, Benefits, Employment, Risk Management, Employee Relations divisions to produce smoother workflow and more effective HR processes
- Projects a positive image of the department and District to employees, students and families and community
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business, budgeting and operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent managerial and diplomacy skills
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master?s degree in Business Administration preferred
- Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience
