JOB GOAL:

To assist in the maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria and playground by helping and supervising students during lunch periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
  3. Ability to follow directions and school procedures from Principal and designated staff.
  4. Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
  5. Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
  6. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  7. Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
  8. Must pass a background clearance.
  9. Must obtain an Arizona IVP Clearance Card


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  1. Supervise students and assist in the cafeteria and playground during lunch and/or recess.
  2. Accepting responsibility for students well being and safety, as the fundamental value in decision making, while they are in employee's care.
  3. Performing all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by the supervisor.
  4. Provide excellent customer service skills to students, employees and the community.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to work with children in a patient, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
  6. Demonstrate interest in nutrition and enthusiasm for school lunch menu items.
  7. Encourage and support healthy eating during lunch through interaction with students.
  8. Regulate and assist student traffic in an efficient, orderly manner.
  9. Prevent and subdue disorderly behavior, refer disciple problems to the administrator.
  10. Oversee that children clear tables and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.
  11. Wipe and sanitize all tables before, during and after each lunch period. Assist in cleaning the floor.
  12. Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses and to drive to the schools and departments in the District. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 Days; Vacation Days: per policy GDD. General Leave Days: per policy GDCA

COMPENSATION: Classified Salary Schedule, Salary Grade Level

BENEFITS: As per District policy

REPORTS TO: Principal

EVALUATION: Initial evaluation to be completed no later than ninety (90) days after first day of work; thereafter, annually by supervisor.

HOURS: 15 hours per week

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
