As the Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the Empowerment Zone is positioned to make data-informed decisions that improve the experience and outcomes of students and families in the Empowerment Zone. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Executive Director of Finance and Operations HOURS: 8am-5pm, M-F; some evening and weekend hours required COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $65,000 Annually AVAILABLE: May 2021 DUTIES: This position is critical to the success of our schools. This person will be expected to engage in three core functions with responsibilities that include but are not limited to: Analyze Data and Disseminate Insights (50%) ● Collect data aligned to long term and short term goals of the Empowerment Zone and individual schools. ● Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources. ● Create bi-weekly and monthly reports/memos that aggregate data across multiple sources and summarize key trends/insights that reflect progress toward the Empowerment Zone’s aim of improving student achievement by centering the student and family experience. ● Propose additional research questions and analytics that drive insight and lead to actionable changes. Create and Maintain Data Dashboard (40%) ● Review SBEZ’s data system and needs, from setup and collection to analysis and visualization. 1● Identify improvements and best practices to the Empowerment Zone’s data collection, based on how other similar organizations meet data infrastructure needs. ● Identify and present possible data dashboard and visualization tool designs that prioritize ease of use and the ability to integrate multiple data sources. ● Develop the dashboard and back-end data system, showing prototypes and updates on a regular basis to ensure alignment. ● Regularly maintain and update data sets required for the data dashboard. ● Build a data dashboard manual that memorializes how to use and access the dashboard and train the SBEZ team on its use.
